The Muscle Couple is always looking around at the beginning of every year for new and exciting breakthroughs in the supplement industry.
We think we found one worth mentioning.
P28 High Protein Bread
Check out the Nutritional Label and you will see the protein grams are greater than the carbs. A big positive in our eyes.

It also lists ingredients from oats, flaxseed, sunflower seed and millet and contains a solid blend of omega-3 EFA’s. It’s cholesterol free and a good source of fiber as well.
We see this product as a great source of carbs and protein as a pre or post workout snack. You can obviously also get additional protein when making healthy sandwiches adding leans meats like Turkey or chicken.
TMC envisions eating this toasted with Egg White in the morning. Yumm.
You can order it at the link above. We also assume it is/will be available at supplement discount sites online.
Feel free to leave comments on the blog letting us know what you think of the product.

Looks like it’s high in gluten, though; it’s the second ingredient on their label:

For those who feel the need for sliced bread in their diet… wouldn’t it be better to go with a high-fiber multi-grain bread without added gluten, and get the protein elsewhere? (or though not multi-grain, the higher-fiber Thomas’ Better Start English Muffins, referenced on this site a few months ago)

Good catch. Gluten is a BIG NO-NO! The Thomas’s Better Start also appear to have Gluten. The problem with almost any bread product commercially manufactured and produced is that there will be bi-products that suck ass. Welcome to cheap manufacturing and mass production in 2010. As always stated, Bread will make you fat if you eat too much of it. If there really is that much gluten in the P28 Bread, then anybody with an allergy or sensitivity to Gluten should avoid it. Anything in moderation shouldn’t be too bad although gluten might be the exception to that comment. Thanks for pointing this out. Need to look closer at the ingredients next time and not be sold by the sizzle of the supplement.

This is great…whats the big deal about gluten if you don’t have allergies? all bread has gluten. 28 grams of protein is awesome!
