Wear what is comfortable to You!
Walk into any gym across the world and you’re sure to see trainees with black gloves cut off at the knuckles.
Does wearing gloves offer any improved performance when training? Not conclusively.
It’s really just a matter of personal comfort.
PROS:
- Easier to grip and hold onto the Bar
- Keep sweat from your palms
- Prevent calluses or other worn skin
- Certain Gloves offer straps to minimize involvement of forearms when performing Back exercises
CONS:
- Loss of Feel when gripping the bar
- Sticky residue left on your hands after removing
- Imperfect fit depending on the size of your hands and length of your fingers.
The Muscle Couple bottom line:
Do what makes you feel the most comfortable when lifting. Anh uses gloves and Jay doesn’t.
It’s entirely up to you. If you choose gloves, be sure to choose quality form fitting gloves relative to the size of your hands.
